- 40% of the positions are set aside for members of the Bihar State Health Service Cadre.
- 40% of the positions are designated for doctors who have completed their postgraduate degree courses from medical colleges within the state under the residency scheme.
- The last 20% of the positions are allocated to doctors who have acquired their postgraduate degrees under the residency scheme from recognized institutions outside the state.
