Eligibility Criteria for Railway Group D Recruitment 2024

Nationality

For eligibility, a candidate must fall into one of the following categories:

• Citizen of India
• Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanent settlement
• Person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanent settlement in India.

Age Criteria

The age limit for those applying to RRB Group D is 18 to 33 years. But there are relaxations for certain groups:

• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates can be 36 years old, with a 3-year relaxation.
• SC/ST candidates can be up to 38 years old, with a 5-year relaxation.

Educational Criteria

To apply for RRB Group D positions, candidates need to meet one of these criteria:

• Passed the 10th standard (SSLC/Matriculation) from a recognized board.
• Obtained an ITI certificate approved by NCVT/SCVT or have an equivalent certification.

Application fees for Railway Group D Recruitment 2024

• For General and OBC candidates, the application fee is ₹500, out of which ₹400 is refundable after appearing in the Computer Based Test (CBT).
• For SC, ST, EWS, Women, Ex-Servicemen, and PwBD Candidates, the application fee is reduced to ₹250, and the entire amount is refundable after the CBT.

Selection Process for Railway Group D Vacancy

The RRB Group D Recruitment 2024 selection process is meticulously crafted to assess candidates’ suitability for diverse Group D roles within the Indian Railways.

• Computer-Based Test (CBT): This initial stage comprises an objective-type examination covering subjects such as General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence and reasoning, and General Awareness and Current Affairs.
• Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who pass the CBT proceed to the PET, where their physical capabilities are evaluated.
• Document Verification: Successful PET candidates undergo document verification, presenting original documents like educational qualifications, age proof, and category certificates for scrutiny.
• Medical Examination: Following document verification, candidates undergo a medical examination. The medical standards vary based on the specific post requirements, ensuring candidates are physically and medically fit for their assigned duties.

Expected Salary Railway Group D Recruitment 2024

Candidates selected under RRB Group D Recruitment will receive a basic salary of Rs 18,000. Additionally, they will be entitled to various allowances, including:

• Transport Allowance
• House Rent Allowance (HRA)
• Allowance for Night Duty
• Medical Facilities
• Overtime Allowance

Taking these allowances into account, the in-hand salary for RRB Group D posts ranges from Rs. 22,500 to Rs. 25,380 per month.

Exam Pattern for Group D Level-I

The Railway Administration retains the authority to conduct the Computer-Based Test (CBT) either in a single-stage or multi-stage format.

Upon qualifying for the CBT, candidates must undergo a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which will be succeeded by Document Verification and Medical Examination. Also, there will be a negative marking system wherein 1/3rd marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
