Bihar Pyaj Bhandaran is a government scheme that provides a grant of up to ₹4 lakh 50 thousand for setting up a storage unit (50 MT) for onion storage. As per the scheme, the onion-producing farmers will be given 75% of the total amount as a grant.

How much subsidy can I get through the Bihar Pyaj Bhandaran Yojana?
The maximum subsidy you can get through the Bihar Pyaj Bhandaran Yojana is ₹4.50 lakh. This amount covers 75% of the total project cost, which is estimated to be around ₹6 lakh for a 50 metric tonne onion storage unit.
It’s important to note that you’ll be responsible for the remaining 25% of the project cost, which comes out to ₹1.5 lakh.

- Applicants must be residents of Bihar State to be eligible for the Bihar Pyaj Bhandaran Yojana.
- Farmers who wish to construct onion storage under the Vegetable Development Scheme are eligible for this scheme.
- The applicant farmer’s bank account must be linked with the Aadhaar card.

- First, you will have to visit the official website of the Horticulture Bihar Portal.
- After coming to the Home Page, you will find the ‘Apply for Onion Storage Unit (50MT)’ link under Bihar Pyaj Bhandaran Yojana 2024-25 (the link will be activated soon).
- Clicking on the link will open a page like this –
- Now, you will have to enter the farmer’s DBT registration number and click on the Submit option.
- After clicking, the Application Form will open in front of you. Fill out this form carefully.
- You will have to scan and upload all the requested documents.
- Finally, you must click on the Submit option. You will then receive your application receipt. Print this receipt and keep it safe.
