Eligibility Criteria to Apply for the SSC CGL Exam

The SSC CGL eligibility criteria, including age limit, nationality, and education qualifications, are set by the Staff Selection Commission. Candidates must meet these criteria to be eligible for the SSC CGL exam –

  • Nationality/Citizenship: Candidates must either hold Indian citizenship, have Indian origin, be citizens of Nepal/Bhutan, or be Tibetan refugees.
  • Age Limit: The age norms for eligibility are given below: The minimum age limit is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 32 years.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or an equivalent degree. Those in their final year of graduation can also apply, provided they must obtain the needed qualifications before the cutoff date.

For Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer

Necessary qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute. Additionally, desirable qualifications encompass Cost and Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, or Master’s in Business Economics, Commerce, Business Studies, or Business Administration (Finance).

During the probation period, direct recruits must pass the “Subordinate Audit/Accounts Service Examination” for confirming and regular appointment.

For Junior Statistical Officer

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute. They must have secured at least 60% marks in Mathematics at the 12th standard level or have Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation.

SSC CGL Application Fees

Individuals who wish to register for the SSC CGL exam must pay an application fee of Rs 100.

However, female candidates and individuals belonging to certain reserved categories, including Scheduled Tribe (ST), Scheduled Caste (SC), Persons with Disability (PwD), and Ex-Servicemen (ESM), are not required to pay any application fee.

This fee can be paid through offline or online methods, such as credit card, SBI challan, BHIM, internet banking, UPI, or debit card.
