CTET Exam Date Out
The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted to assess candidates’ eligibility for teaching positions in Classes 1 to 8 at Central Government Schools, including NVS and KVS. The exam date for the CTET December 2024 has been updated, and it will now take place on 15th December 2024 (Sunday) in an offline format.
CTET Paper II is scheduled for the morning shift from 09:30 AM to 12:00 noon, while Paper I will be held in the evening shift from 02:30 PM to 05:00 PM.
Application Fees of CTET Notification 2024
Candidates from the General or OBC category must pay a fee of ₹1000 if they are applying for either Paper I or Paper II and ₹1200 if they intend to apply for both papers. In contrast, candidates from the SC/ST category will pay a reduced fee of ₹600 for either Paper I or Paper II, and ₹1200 for both papers.

Eligibility Criteria for CTET Notification 2024
The eligibility requirements vary for candidates applying for teaching positions in Classes 1 to 5 compared to those for Classes 6 to 8. Below are the educational qualifications needed for each group:
Educational Qualification for Classes 1-5
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- Senior Secondary or Equivalent: Completed Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and either cleared or currently enrolled in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- NCTE Regulations: Completed Senior Secondary or equivalent with a minimum of 45% marks and either cleared or currently enrolled in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, as per NCTE Regulations 2002.
- Bachelor of Elementary Education: Completed Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and either cleared or currently enrolled in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education.
- Diploma in Education: Completed Senior Secondary or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks and either cleared or currently enrolled in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education.
- Bachelor’s Degree: Holds a Bachelor’s degree and is either cleared or currently enrolled in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
Educational Qualifications for Classes 6-8
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- Graduation with Diploma in Elementary Education: Holds a Graduation degree and has either passed or is currently enrolled in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
- Graduation with Bachelor in Education:
- Completed Graduation with at least 50% marks and has either cleared or is currently enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
- Completed Graduation with at least 40% marks and has either cleared or is currently enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor in Education, by NCTE regulations.
- Senior Secondary with Bachelor of Elementary Education: Completed Senior Secondary or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks and has either cleared or is currently enrolled in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education.
- Senior Secondary with B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed: Completed Senior Secondary or equivalent with at least 50% marks and has either cleared or is currently enrolled in the final year of B.A.Ed, B.Sc.Ed, or B.A/B.Sc.Ed programs.
- Graduation with 1-Year B.Ed: Holds a Graduation degree with at least 50% marks and has either cleared or is currently enrolled in a 1-year B.Ed program.
Age Limit
There is no specific age limit for applying for the CTET Exam 2024. Candidates can take the exam multiple times if they wish to enhance their CTET scores, as there are no age restrictions for applicants.
How To Register for CTET Exam 2024?
To apply for CTET, follow these simple steps:
- Visit the official CTET website at ctet.nic.in.
- On the homepage, click on “Apply for CTET Dec-2024.”
- If you’re a new user, click “New Registration” to create an account. If you already have an account, log in by filling in your details and clicking “SIGN IN.”
- Enter your details, such as your name, parent’s name, and date of birth, all in capital letters.
- Choose your exam center and the language (English/Hindi) in which you want to take the exam.
- Enter your Aadhaar number, gender, category, employment status, and details of your qualifying exam.

CTET Exam Pattern

Nature and Standard of Questions
- Child Development and Pedagogy: This section will assess candidates’ understanding of educational psychology related to teaching and learning for children aged 6 to 11. CTET Syllabus 2024

CTET Certificate Validity 2024
The validity period for the CTET certificate has been updated, and it is now valid for a lifetime. This change, effective from 2011, was announced by the Education Minister. Candidates whose certificates have expired can obtain a new certificate that also has no expiry date.
Additionally, it has been stated that the responsibility for revalidating or reissuing CTET certificates will lie with the respective States and Union Territories (UTs) for candidates whose certificates have exceeded the previous 7-year validity period (post-2011). Previously, the CTET certificate was valid for 7 years from the date of issuance.
